Low Back and Neck Pain
Back and neck pain can have many sources, from stress to specific lesions such as herniated discs or degenerative changes in the spine. At Soho PT, we not only work to relieve pain, but also seek to correct the underlying cause and prevent the recurrence of symptoms.
Treatments involve manual therapy, which may include massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization and muscle energy techniques. Lumbar stabilization and flexibility exercises may be included in the rehabilitation program, as specifically indicated. Home exercises, posture and ergonomic education complete the program.
Our goal is always to return each client to a normal lifestyle and prevent further incidents of low back pain and neck pain.
Pregnancy Care
Soho PT offers a service focused on helping women cope with the physical stresses of pregnancy. We provide specialized, soothing massage therapy or manual physical therapy treatments that address more serious orthopedic dysfunctions. Specially designed treatment tables and positioning bolsters are used to provide comfort and safety.
As physical therapists, we are aware of the special needs and medical precautions of the expectant mother. All treatments and exercises are within the guidelines established by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Pre/Postop Rehabilitation
The purpose of pre- and postoperative rehabilitation is to provide rapid recovery utilizing hands-on manual techniques and therapeutic exercises to promote healing.
Pre- and postop rehabilitation is an integral part of your treatment, for regaining strength, balance, endurance, and conditioning after surgery, and its importance should not be underestimated.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy, using touch to manipulate soft-tissues and muscles, is performed for the treatment of painful ailments, decompressing tired and overworked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting general health. Clients seek massage for its medical benefits, as well as for relaxation purposes.
